What is Paintball?
Paintball is one of the fastest growing sports in Europe. Every month thousands of new players try out the most exciting pastime available. Most first time players attend a corporate event day, stag party, birthday party or just get together with a group of friends: Many are "bitten by the bug" and return on a regular basis. Some groups of friends arrange themselves into regular teams who play tournaments.
Is it war?
The common presumption is that paintball caters for the Rambos of society and those with a paramilitary bent. In fact, paintball is a well organised and exciting sport. It is a game and nothing more. If you go to a site and expect a crash course in subversive thuggery, you'll be disappointed.
Does it hurt and is it dangerous?
If you are wearing sensible clothing - a jacket, thick jumper or overalls, then the answer is NO!! But if you are running about in the altogether, expect a short sharp shock. Safety is the key word. On arrival at our site you will be issued with a safety mask, specifically designed for paintball, coveralls to protect your clothes and other safety items. A comprehensive safety talk will be given at the start of the day before any player is allowed to get hold of their marker (gun) or start playing.
How much does it cost?
A basic charge will include all safety equipment, coveralls, the hire of a marker and battlepack with pots. Packages can be tailored to suit individual requirements from £10 per person.
How long will it last?
Packages can be arranged to last from 3 hours to a full day and during the summer months paintball can be played in the evening.
What do I need to bring with me?
In practical terms you will need a change of clothing case you decide to crawl in the mud or if it rains, and sensible footwear. High heels are not conducive to charging around the woods. But the most important thing to bring with you is sense of humour and a willingness to get stuck in and possibly make a fool of yourself.
Are there any age restrictions?
You have to be over 12 years old (or 11 if in year 7 at school) to play paintball. A parent or guardian must attend the safety talk at the start of the session so they are aware of the risks involved with playing paintball. If players are under 11 then we offer outdoor Laser Tag - same game areas as paintball but without the paintballs !!
How do I arrange a game of paintball?
The first thing to do is read through information provided. It is then down to phoning or emailing for help and advice and to find out what you get for your money. You will be asked to send a deposit and an estimate of the number of in your group. Then it's just a case of turning up on the specified day to experience the ultimate adrenalin rush......PAINTBALL.

You have to be over 12 years old to play paintball.
A parent or guardian must attend the safety talk at the start of the session so they are aware of the risks involved with playing paintball.
The parent or guardian must countersign the game consent form (waiver) to confirm they are aware of the risks involved in playing paintball.
We will endeavour to keep junior groups separate from adult groups but with small groups this can't always be guaranteed.
Parents can play with junior groups.
The minimum age is the age the main insurance companies to the Paintball Industry have agreed with the United Kingdom Paintball Sports Federation (governing body).
If you find a paintball venue that will take under 12 year olds - ask to see a copy of their insurance policy
Paintball Experience and Powerplay Paintball are members of the United Kingdom Paintball Sports Federation. Both the Brighouse and Wakefield venues are UKPSF accredited venues
Paintball Policy
We operate a very strict "site paint only" policy. All paintballs used at Powerplay Skirmish must be purchased at the site*. Any player found using their own paintballs will be asked to leave with no refund being offered. All the paintballs used at the venue meet strict standards - paintballs bought from other sources i.e. Internet auction sites, car boots etc... won't have been stored correctly or could be reject batches so don't waste your money on inferior paintballs.
Prices
The prices quoted on the website are correct on 1 January 2019 We will try to ensure all prices quoted are current but reserve the right to change the prices and availability without notice
Availability
Please ensure you check session availability with the office prior to booking an event. The events diary page is not updated daily so sessions may be allocated without the session availability being removed from the website.
